ISIS slaughters 250 girls for refusing to be sex slaves. Again. As children they are preserved and protected by a pure God. Never again to be touched by evil men’s hands. Unable to choose their husbands and commodities for a future generation of ISIS, they were spared by a merciful Savior.
When President Obama is going to wake up to the slavery and injustice of the genocide of Christians in the Middle East, as well as the murdering of countless women and children who cannot protect themselves.
Unfortunately, these continuous persecutions will not be published or mentioned by the American corporate news companies.
Truth and justice comes from God.
This happens in our own country, as well. Countless women and children are killed every day from domestic violence. They are abused and vulnerable and must use their faith to escape to freedom. It isn’t adultery. It isn’t fornication. Trust me, it isn’t a sin to save your life and the life of your children.
Back when my sons and I were homeless, we had nothing but what was packed in our car. We drove from location to location trying to find shelter. I could not take my special needs son to a homeless shelter because his health was so fragile. My family wanted nothing to do with us, and the churches we knew turned their backs on us. Plus, we were running from my psychotic, then husband.
This is but a minor reflection of what is happening to women and children in the Middle East. ISIS slaughters 250 girls and the world says nothing.
I didn’t just wake up and say I wanted a psychotic husband.
You may laugh at that, but seriously, if you asked some people they would act as if that was true. Far too many people minimize domestic violence as if they have no responsibility to help abused women and children, and act as if it is our fault.
Do you think that these women in the Middle East do this? The many women and children are forced into slavery by ISIS and then are slaughtered for refusing to be sex slaves.
In America, our Accusers either want women like me (abused in the church) to “stay with their husbands until he repents” and lose our lives and allow our children to be abused or killed as well? Or, their attitude becomes “you get what you deserved” and they turn their backs on our very real needs and our desperate cries for help.
The amazing thing is that it this is also happening in the Middle East. Why is the world silent when ISIS slaughters 250 girls? These women either give up their sexual purity to their tyrants to save their lives, or they die trying to protect their purity.
How many women and children will it take before someone in Washington listens?
Let me tell you about a domestic violence event I witnessed the other day at a gym.
I don’t typically frequent gyms, but my special needs son and I were there for therapy (supposedly it is the only place for water therapy in our area.). After my son’s lesson, we waited outside the family bathroom so I could help him get dressed, and a woman came breezing past us. On her heels was a young man, intent on trying to change her mind as she headed towards the women’s locker room. He quite obviously knew her fairly well.
As she attempted to walk into the restroom, he blocked her path, less than an inch from her body space. Every attempt she made to side-step him, he blocked her path. She could not turn away from him and he was furious, knowing full-well that she could not physically over-come him. She stayed calm on the outside, but as I watched this even unfold, I knew I would not sit and watch a full-blown assault happen in front of my son and I. This interchange went on several times, and she just gave in to the idea that she was trapped. But, I could not just stand there and watch this happen. I grabbed my son and we went to get help.
But several women walked past them before I went to get help. There was also a man by the snack machine behind us. They did not notice, but we did.
You know what really peeves me about this mentality?
Not one person is thinking about how my sons have to grow up with the impact of domestic violence, but also with the very real fact that so many people turned their backs on our desperation. God delivered us from homelessness and from the hands of a violent evil man, but the silence was deafening.
But, what have all of these people said to us? And what are people like this saying to those women and children who are victimized in the Middle East? Not one person is thinking about the future of the children who are growing up under ISIS control.
The problem needs to be stopped by attending to the needs of the mothers and children who are victimized. But no one is listening because they don’t know what to do with the mess created by the tyrants.
Violence against women and children gets in the way of their easy lives and makes things so complicated to the common American. The problem is, common America needs to wake up, because ISIS is at our doorstep—and they aren’t coming across the waters in refugee boats.
What is America saying to women and children who are victims of ISIS?
If ISIS slaughters 250 girls and the world remains silent, then they will do it again.
Many of us cannot do anything except pray, send assistance and write, of course. But silence before the throne of God and on earth is injustice. We cannot always turn the wheels of justice with our voices, or our pens, but our God is mighty in power and in deeds. He is also the Right Hand of Justice. Be prepared to act so that the lives that can be saved are saved because we are the hands and feet of Gods’ justice.
I pray you join me in God’s fight for justice, both at home and abroad.
