The Summer Olympics lapbook all started with my special needs son’s camp. The Summer Olympics became his camp’s theme, complete with games the campers could perform. Plus, they earned tinny gold medals with red, white and blue ribbons. My son jumped on that band wagon weeks before camp, and the idea of making my own lapbook unit using his excitement was born.
The kids at my son’s camp performed feats like shooting water guns into cups, throwing balls through hoops and tossing sponges into kiddie pools. My son won two gold medals.:-) He told me he wanted to cry when he was recognized for winning the ball toss. I thought, How sweet! He really took these challenges to heart and tried his best.
So, being the industrious mom that I am, I created a Summer Olympics lapbook for my son, that focused on his strengths. I gathered several different ideas from many resources and even pinned a few ideas. You can choose one of the free, or purchase the lapbooks.
